A short Wrap this week as I’m busy stuffing envelopes with BBS Tick Certificates. We’re intending to hand deliver certificates to those venues that have achieved excellence in Style Accessibility and Disabled Facilities and we’re doing this on the anniversary of the London 2012 Paralympics i.e. by 30th August. They also get BBS Stickers to put on show so that users can see if a venue has good access and facilities. Mainly in London but we will be including all the venues we’ve reviewed for the Mobile App which covers all of the UK & Europe. So look out for the Recommended By BBS signs!!

Also this week: I and the Epicure Lieutenant went for a very grown-up meal at 2 Michelin Star restaurant The Square in Bruton st., London. I was expecting something good as it’s the restaurant of Phil Howard , a chef other chefs look up to. We both had his signature dish – Lasagne of Dorset Crab with a Cappuccino of Shellfish and Champagne Foam – it was the best thing I’ve ever eaten, the Lieutenant agreed and we were almost silent as we ate and there was plenty of it to enjoy. Beautiful Turbot followed with some great ‘amuse bouche’ along the way but the crab was the BEST. The only downer was the cracked tiles in the slightly shabby disabled toilet. The access was good and there’s plenty of room between the tables. It’s expensive but worth it if you want a culinary treat. They get 3 BBS Ticks as it was excellent in spite of the DT. Last week I mentioned we would display some designs/sketches of some ‘trendy’ Rollators/Walkers and here they are:

Let us know if you like any of these. There are more ideas to come as we’re just trying to make walking equipment more attractive and trendy, as there’s a distinct lack of imagination in this market. None of these are in production but if we get a good response they may be. See you next week after my trip to the final Test at the very accessible Oval, England #Rise!! We will also be posting some recollections of London 2012 from our Paralympian Sport Bloggers next week.
