I went to Hibiscus at the end of October accompanied by the Epicure Lieutenant. We had a great time we were given a suggested menu which was brilliant. I loved my starter of crab with rosehip & crab apple sorbet and walnuts, whilst my Lieutenant got stuck into a ravioli of smoked potato & hen’s egg yolk and autumn truffle. The main course was pheasant which was even more tasty and succulent – the first time I’ve not had a problem with cutting the meat. The desserts that followed were a real treat, Hibiscus “Tarte au Chocolat’ with basil ice cream was a brilliant flavour combination although I couldn’t finish the generous portion. The whisky cream millefeuille with coffee sorbet & espresso syrup, that the Lieutenant had, was made with the lightest, melt in your mouth pastry – he kept most of it for himself!

A truly superb and interesting meal which I can still remember the taste of. The access was easy and the disabled toilet was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was a ‘muted buzziness.’?! A great evening out with food to match. Make sure you’re hungry when you go.

Hibiscus gets  a definite 3 BBS Ticks.

I’m reliably informed that Hibiscus has brilliant food. With 2 Michelin Stars and a top 10 rating in the Good Food Guide 2012, I can’t wait to try this elegant looking restaurant. The chef is Claude Bosi who has a ‘bold yet elegant culinary style’.

It’s also on street level and has a disabled toilet. So 3 provisional BBS Ticks.

This place is fantastic as it is the sort of easy access restaurant with top notch food that I would visit again and again if I could. The acoustics are great so there is no need to shout. The toilet is within easy reach through nicely spaced tables and chairs. The carpet was a little bit bumpy for those pretending they can walk, so I did trip a bit but I am only pretending to walk these days.
